The A-Team Lyrical Analysis

White lips, pale face
Breathing in snowflakes
Burnt lungs, sour taste
Light's gone, day's end
Struggling to pay rent
Long nights, strange men

This first verse talks the girl being outside and sleeping in the cold. white lips and pale face make reference to her sleeping in the cold. by her struggling to pay rent we're able to understand that she's someone who isn't doing well for herself, hence her sleeping outside. we're also able to get a quick and brief understanding that she's a prostitute which is how she makes her living 'long nights, strnage men'.

And they say
She's in the Class A Team
Stuck in her daydream
Been this way since 18
But lately her face seems
Slowly sinking, wasting
Crumbling like pastries
And they scream
The worst things in life come free to us
Cos we're just under the upperhand
And go mad for a couple of grams
And she don't want to go outside tonight
And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland
Or sells love to another man
It's too cold outside
For angels to fly
Angels to fly

The chorus makes reference to things that happens in her daily life. we are able to understand the things that she's into, i.e drugs and prostitution. we understand that she's into drugs from the lines 'go mad for a couple of grams' and 'in a pipe she flies to the motherland', where as the reference of prostitution is from the line 'sells love to another man'. from the line 'the worst things in life come free to us' you're able to tell that she's struggling in life and that nothing's going her way.

Ripped gloves, raincoat
Tried to swim and stay afloat
Dry house, wet clothes
Loose change, bank notes
Weary-eyed, dry throat
Call girl, no phone

This verse focuses on her trying to 'stay afloat' in life. ripped gloves gives the sense of poverty but when she reaches her 'dry house' from the pooring rain it's a brighter moment for her.
And hey say
She's in the Class A Team
Stuck in her daydream
Been this way since 18
But lately her face seems
Slowly sinking, wasting
Crumbling like pastries
And they scream
The worst things in life come free to us
Cos we're just under the upperhand
And go mad for a couple of grams
And she don't want to go outside tonight
And in a pipe she flies to the Motherland
Or sells love to another man
It's too cold outside
For angels to fly
Angels to fly
An angel will die
Covered in white
Closed eye
And hoping for a better life
This time, we'll fade out tonight
Straight down the line
